Cooper’s Guide walks and tours & visits are devised and delivered by Catherine Cooper, unless otherwise stated.

  • What is the difference between a Public Walk and a Private Tour or Visit?

Public walks are open to anyone who wishes to pay to attend the walk as advertised. Private tours & visits are for those wishing to engage Cooper’s Guide exclusively to conduct their group’s tour and/or visit – as agreed/pre-arranged.

All tours are conducted in English. For an additional cost a translator can be hired on your behalf.

Group numbers vary from walk to walk but are never more than 30.

Best to get in contact with your requirements but for groups with numbers in excess of 30, additional guides may be required if you wish the engagement to run simultaneously for timing reasons.

  • Will I be able to hear you?

Hopefully, but for large groups, walks in very noisy areas, or on request, voice amplification may be used. For an additional cost a remote audio system can be hired on your behalf.

  • Are you insured?

Yes – Public Liability but every individual on a walk, tour or visit is responsible for their own safety and should purchase their own insurance if neccessary.

  • Do you tour in all weathers?

Yes, but if a severe weather warning is issued, then the walk, tour or visit may be delayed, postponed or cancelled. Please dress appropriately and bring your umbrella, sun screen, etc.

  • How do I contact you if delayed on the day?

You will have a mobile (cell) phone number to be able to contact Cooper's Guide and we will decide at the time what to do, depending on how late you are running behind.

Accessible Tourism

  • Are you inclusive?

Cooper’s Guide aims to be inclusive and welcomes enquiries from individuals or groups with access needs associated with mobility, sight, hearing, etc.

  • Can I bring my assistance dog on a walk?

Assistance dogs are very welcome – if you can advise in advance, it would be useful to know.

  • Are your walks suitable for someone who uses a mobility aid?

All walks state approximate duration & distance, and as to whether steps feature. You must best decide if the walk is for you. For private engagements, please advise on your needs at the time of enquiry.
